From lush greenery and paddy fields to intricate temple carvings and deities, Bali is beautiful and fascinating. This was my first visit and I hope it won’t be my last. The paddy fields reflecting the sky in between the green spikes and the rice pickers and planters working under the hot sun are the image that will remain with me. The detail of the stone carvings in temples and shrines drew me in, but the sometimes grotesque faces on the statues were quite off-putting.
